Overview

DevToolsHub ("we", "us", "the site") is a free collection of developer and everyday utility tools, published under the SyntaxSutra name. It's an independently run personal project, not a registered company — "we" refers to the individual operating it. This page explains what data is collected when you use tools.syntaxsutra.com, how it's handled, and the rights available to you depending on where you live.

How our tools handle your input

The tools on this site — including formatters, converters, calculators, the password generator, the e-signature tool, invoice/resume builders, and the image/PDF tools — run entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Text, files, images, and PDFs you enter or upload into a tool are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to or stored on our servers. The one exception is the currency converter, which fetches exchange-rate data from a third-party API — this does not send any of your personal data to that API, only a request for public rate data.

Because we don't receive or store your tool inputs, we have no ability to access, retain, or hand over content you process with these tools — including signed documents, invoices, resumes, or images.

Cookies

We use a cookie consent banner that lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies before they're set. Cookies on this site fall into these categories:

  • Essential — used to remember your cookie consent choice itself. Always active, since the site can't ask for consent without remembering the answer.
  • Analytics (optional) — if enabled, may be used to understand aggregate traffic patterns and which tools are used most. Set only with your consent.
  • Advertising (optional) — if we run ads (e.g. via Google AdSense), advertising cookies may be used to serve and measure ads. Set only with your consent.

You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer.

Advertising

We may use third-party advertising vendors, including Google, to serve ads on this site. These vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising at any time via Google Ads Settings or, in the EU/UK, via Your Online Choices.

Analytics

We may use analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate. This data does not identify you personally and is not linked to the content you process in any tool.

Your rights under GDPR (EU / UK / EEA)

If you're located in the EU, UK, or EEA, data protection law (GDPR / UK GDPR) gives you the right to:

  • Know what personal data is processed about you — for this site, that's limited to cookie consent choices and any aggregate analytics/advertising data collected by our third-party vendors (see above)
  • Withdraw cookie consent at any time via "Cookie Settings" in the footer
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest, and opt out of personalized advertising (see the Advertising section above)
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Because tool inputs are processed only in your browser and never reach our servers, there is no personal data from your tool usage for us to access, export, or delete on request — it never left your device.

Your rights under CCPA / CPRA (California)

If you're a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (a broad term that can include personalized advertising based on cookies). You can exercise the opt-out via "Cookie Settings" in the footer or Google Ads Settings. We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense — we don't collect or store data about the content you process with our tools.

International use

This site is accessible worldwide. If you access it from outside your home country, any cookie or analytics data (only where you've consented) may be processed in a different country by our third-party vendors (e.g. Google's global infrastructure). We don't control or guarantee compliance with every local law in every country — you're responsible for ensuring your own use of this site complies with laws applicable to you.

Third-party links

Our site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction (13 in the US under COPPA; 16 in the EU under GDPR unless a member state sets a lower age).

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
